ACCIDENT VEHICLE TESTING

POLICY

  • Accident inspection must first be requested by the Police
  • Accident vehicles have to be inspected with the approval of Officer –In - Charge of the station.
  • Accident Reports should be written only after physical examination and testing of the vehicle on DVLA letter heads.
  • The Driver(s) must be tested on vision & theory.
  • All Stations are to examine accident vehicles within their territory
  • All Accident cases must be entered in the register

REQUIREMENTS

  • Police request form
  • Present vehicle for inspection

PROCEDURE

  • Read Police request form
  • Payment of prescribed inspection fee
  • Examine the vehicle in the presence of the case officer, driver or owner or representative.
  • Write report on DVLA letter head.
  • Accident reports should be given to the police officer
  • Record  details in accident register
